A 2-minute stroll to Bustling Highbury Village with an abundance of Local Eateries, café’s, Restaurants &Bars. The Birkenhead Ferry Terminal is a 3-minute drive with free parking available – A great way to venture into Auckland City.
Birkenhead village is where the locals come to eat. There are numerous restaurants, cafes, and fast-food outlets within a few minutes’ walk. There is a large selection of cuisines on offer, and they cater for all tastes and budgets.
Fernz is in a handy central location with easy access to the CBD, harbour, and city attractions. With free parking you can come and go, or if you prefer, use local transport which is in the shopping centre.
Le Roys bush is the largest inner city rain forest in NZ and the tracks through the forest start two minutes’ walk away.
There is also the heritage walk down to the ferry passing some of the first houses built in Auckland. You also pass interesting shops and cafes on the way.
Another nice walk is to the Chelsea Sugar works which has a restaurant / Café overlooking the harbour.
Things to do
Takapuna golf coarse is a short drive away. It is an 18-hole course open to the public and has a large driving range if you just want to practice.
Sunday night market is in the Birkenhead Mall. Try some of the locally produced food.
Shop at the Glenfield, Takapuna or Albany malls for everyday items or go to the CBD for the high fashion shops.
Head to the beach. Choose one of the local bays or drive over to the west coast where the wild waves and spectacular scenery always impress.
